There are two types of Professional Tax registrations under the respective State Professional Tax Acts:
PTEC – Professional Tax Enrolment Certificate

PTRC – Professional Tax Registration Certificate

Applicable to employers who are required to deduct Professional Tax from salaries of employees.

Employers must collect and deposit Professional Tax on behalf of their employees to the state government.

Mandatory if the employer has employees whose salaries exceed the minimum taxable limit under the respective state law.
